Testimonials

“At CSEM we use the nRad system for development and manufacturing of technology demonstrators such as printable organic photovoltaic modules and OLED.  The nRad equipment and the user interface are easy to understand and handle.  The system has provided us with stable and reproducible results for development of large-area OLEDs. It has been especially effective for processing 70nm PEDOT and LEP on both glass and flexible A4 substrates with ±3% film thickness uniformity. We have also realized complete 10×10 cm sq area OLED devices, which showed considerably more uniform emission than analogous devices made using other coating technologies.

Scalability is very important for us as CSEM develops processes and devices for industrial applications and it is important to solve the right problems from the start. The nRad deposition system’s high level of flexibility allows us to use a broad range of inks and ink formulations with a wide range of tunable parameter variation. This enables us to develop processes on a bench top that are scalable and very close to the industrial production conditions.”

– Giovanni Nisato, Business and Technology Development Senior Manager, CSEM

“nTact is a slot die manufacturer of pedigree, from design through to on-site training, they offer a complete service. I have experience of their processes delivering 20nm thick organic films over large areas with extremely tight tolerances, below +/- 2nm variation; perfect for printed organic LEDs.”

– Dr. Geoff Williams, OLED Group Leader, Thorn Lighting UK

“At Holst Centre we use various nTACt slot-die tools for development of sheet-to-sheet (S2S) and roll-to-roll (R2R) processes for flexible OLED and OPV applications. We are very satisfied with the nTact tools and with the collaborative support. It really accelerates the research and enables us to stay on the forefront of innovation in the domain of flexible electronics.”

– Ton van Mol, Partnership Director, Holst Centre

“MBraun Inertgas-Systeme GmbH actively develops and designs R&D and pilot-lines for the research and manufacturing of organic electronics – mainly OLEDs. Over the years the focus switched from effective solutions to efficient solutions which offer innovative ideas with maximized flexibility and optimized economy tailored to customer needs and requirements. In this effort MBraun has identified slot-die coating as a core technology.

With such technologies you have to be prepared to go the extra mile to get it to work. So our partners need to be committed, flexible and excellent in their specific know-how. That’s why we chose nTact as our strategic partner when slot-die coating is required in our systems. Our business philosophy and values are very similar which makes the work very effective. If we have projects which require well-designed slot-die-coaters and a process team with skilled engineers behind who can help solving the coating problem, nTact is certainly our top choice. They exhibit flexibility and ingenuity in dealing with unique coating challenges such as selective area coating (or patch coating) and dedicate the right resources to successfully manage the tasks.

When nTact supplies a coater – that’s it! Apart from fine-tuning you don’t have to go back and alter things. As a system integrator for the OLED industry we cannot ask for more. We would like to call it not “plug & play” but “install & coat“ as we can totally rely on the quality of their engineering work. It enables us focusing on our own design which makes the cooperation with them very efficient.

The first work we did together dates back to 2006 and since then both companies saw numerous successful projects in Northern America, Europe and in Asia. If there is a slot-die-coating company with unique coating expertise, very high quality products at sensible prices only we have the right partner – nTact.”

– Daniel Kacerovsky, Director of Sales, Asia, MBraun Inertgas-Systeme GmbH

“The nDeavor and nRad slot die coaters from nTact have greatly improved our ability to develop and provide advanced Plexcore aqueous and non-aqueous HIL inks to researchers & process developers interested in OLED and OPV.”

– Caton Goodman, Manager, Process Engineering, Plextronics
